Careers guide and FAQ!

22 March 2012

Do you have questions about our exciting NEW Careers feature? Look no further!

Be sure to check out our official guide on careers in which Buddy will happily explain everything you need to know about climbing the career ladder!

Any questions left unanswered? Here are a few pointers:

What are Career Points? (are they separate from XP? Will I still earn XP from Careers)?

Yes – whenever you go to work, you will earn Career Points. Get enough and you will unlock the next promotion quest! You will however, earn XP from every job completed which will help you level up in the game.

Will the earning of simoleons be comparable to what my Sim can earn through using Skill Items?

Doing jobs in Careers uses a single Energy when you the job is ready to complete, and the higher up you get in Careers, the better your rewards. Also, the longer appointments will give you better payouts as well! Get promoted, arrive on time, master each jobs and you’ll soon see the benefits of working on a Career!

Are there going to be more Careers?

Yes – we’re working on them! If you have suggestions, let us know and the team will have a look!

Will I be able to work on more than one Career at the same time?

Sorry, you won’t be able to do this. However, you can switch careers but may lose some Career Points in the Career that you are switching away from:

Any Career Points since your last promotion will be lost. However, you won’t lose any if a promotion quest is unlocked but not completed. Also, any jobs in progress will be cancelled.

So we recommend the best time to switch a Career is when you have just been promoted or are at a promotion point but not yet completed it yet.

Can I change my mind about my Career choice?

Yes, do see above.

What happens when I reach the top of my Career? Can I start another one?

When you have reached the current available highest Promotion of your Career, you can always switch to a different Career and try to get to the top of that one! There will, however be more levels coming later! And with new Careers coming soon, you’ll always have a new promotion to be working toward!

How much energy will I be using when I go to work?

Different jobs need different amounts of Energy. So you’re looking at a range of 1 to 3 depending on how you want your Sim to do!
