All social and currency earning interactions in The Sims Social will cost you one energy, while satisfying basic needs like going to the bathroom or sleeping will be free. Energy can be refilled with Gold Simoleons.
In The Sims Social game Sims progress will be measured and aligned with The Sims Social game levels. The higher the level, the more items can be purchased and the more interactions your Sim can have. Sim progress comes from total home value, Relationship progress bars and Social Points. Home value increases with each item you buy while Social Points can be earned through interacting with other Sims.
